Mid-week slump was nowhere to be seen at Jowett yesterday as our students got stuck in to another day of lessons.
In all classes, the focus has turned to the end of session projects and presentations and the cohort is really putting their all into preparation for them. In our Global Issues Seminars, the students have begun to discuss pertinent world issues and tackle the role of social media in contemporary protests. Our students are all dealing with such serious questions excellently, contributing thoughtfully to discussions and respecting the wide diversity of views amongst the cohort. It really is wonderful to see them all rising to the challenge so well!
In the afternoon, our students set off on a trip to Magdalen College to see its beautiful architecture and gardens. For the artists in the cohort, it was great inspiration and they sought out the best picture locations so they could recreate the college on paper later.
The students began the evening with a focused CV workshop. As lots of our students are already thinking ahead towards their future careers, they snapped up the opportunity and the workshop was a hive of activity! It’s wonderful to see our cohort already planning for the future and we have no doubt they’ll reach it better prepared after such a practical workshop!
To wind down, the students spent the rest of the evening playing basketball, football, and table tennis or relaxing inside with a pampering evening and a film night.
By curfew, everyone was feeling stress free and ready for another day of classes!
