A theatre trip was on the Tuesday’s bill for our Balliol students, though not before another series of fascinating classes. On a rainy day in Oxford, there was no hint of anyone feeling under the weather, as they battened down the hatches and embraced the day’s challenges!
The morning lessons began in the usual fashion, everyone chatted for a little while and then settled down to study. The IELTS students continued their excellent progress with the English language, taking part in a fun table planning exercise. Their objective was to seat iconic figures at a fictitious dinner party, finding the best way to avoid conflict – a real challenge!
They also looked at the differences between the major UK political parties, as well as doing some work on Russell Group Universities. Meanwhile, the Engineering students worked together to try and find innovative solutions to some puzzling problems.
After classes, and the usual tasty lunch, the students were whisked off to London’s West End, which is famous for its theatres. The students had some time to take in the amazing sights, and grab a bite to eat, before taking their seats for the show!
The students chose from The Woman In Black, Come From Away and The Comedy About a Bank Robbery, three of the West End’s finest, and enjoyed them enormously, as they experienced a must for any visitor to the UK’s capital!
