Following a full day of lessons on Monday, students at Queen’s were looking forward to a busy afternoon of activities on Tuesday, as they prepared themselves for their exciting excursion to the West End.
It was brilliant to see the campus so alive yesterday considering that the whole cohort are now inundated with homework to complete their final presentations and assignments. The day began as usual and students headed to class, eager to get more work done. Once lessons were complete in the morning, it was time for a quick change and to grab cameras and purses, before the students boarded coaches to London. Everyone enjoyed their packed lunch on the bus as they headed into the UK’s capital, chatting about the afternoon of exploring ahead of them.
On arrival in London, students had a few hours of free time to enjoy some of the sights, restaurants and shops in the area around the West End. Although the weather was a little grey, it didn’t dampen the spirits of this cohort and several groups chose to have a delicious meal before the show was to begin.
At 19:00 student congregated at the theatre doors, choosing between three fantastic shows; The Woman in Black, Come from Away and Comedy About a Bank Robbery. There was a choice for everyone, although the Woman in Black was not for the faint hearted and it certainly spooked a few of our thrill seeking students.
It was clear from the noise on the coach home that the trip had been a huge success, as everyone discussed their favourite parts of the plays. We returned to college late, but it was worth it for such a great day out.
