St Mary’s enjoyed a string of wonderful activities after lunch on Tuesday. They drew, debated and, above all, dissolved into laughter throughout the afternoon and into the evening. A host of fun games kept them smiling all the way into Wednesday!
The morning went off without a hitch, as the students settled into their routine on the second day of classes. Their work is coming along nicely, and they are really getting to grips with their topics.
After lunch, the students had a portrait drawing class, as they unleashed their creative sides. The drawings were all excellent, as famous figures from fiction and reality were recreated on paper. It seems that there are some budding artists in Ascot!
A debate workshop allowed the students to work on a number of skills, such as logical thinking and cooperation. The debate centered around the use of mobile phones in schools, with the students debating the merits of banning the devices. A respectful and lively discussion followed, which was great to see.
Later in the day, the students played a series of fun party games, such as Wink Murder, Duck Duck Goose and Marco Polo. There was a lot of laughter, and the staff were pleased to see everyone having such a good time! Wednesday will bring another exciting excursion, and this prospect only served to raise the mood even more as they headed off to bed.
