The second week at Balliol began with a blockbuster Monday, as the students cracked on with their work and enjoyed their free time. Their projects are starting to take shape, and the evening entertainment ensured that they remain relaxed as well!
For our Film Academy students, it was time to get the cameras out as they began filming their scripted movies. This was their chance to use the fancy equipment, and everyone was very keen to get hands on as they aim to create their masterpieces.
Other students had talks on university applications and personal statements, receiving handy hints and top tips which may well benefit them in the not too distant future. There was also a debate workshop which focused on important ethical questions, as the lasting inspiration from the weekend’s Great Debate was on full display.
In the evening, an ultimate frisbee game took place in the University Parks, with everyone performing admirably in very windy conditions! Those students who weren’t interested in the game instead had a choice of an art gallery visit, or a trip to play an exciting round of crazy golf!
The staff were glad to see the students all having a good time in the evening, with smiles and laughter aplenty. After such a strong day in the classroom, they had certainly earned the chance to blow off steam, and they went to bed tired but happy as they look ahead to Tuesday.
