St Catherine’s tackled a different kind of challenge on Monday evening, as they came together with one of their fellow Oxford campuses for a fantastic football game!
The opposition for the Match of the Day were Jowett, and both teams were cheered on by a loyal band of spectators as they took to the field. The evening sun was low over the field and it made for a picturesque venue for the showdown.
After a rigorous warmup, it was time to get the ball rolling! Both teams performed valiantly, and there was some very skilled play as everyone strived to push their side to victory. Sadly there could only be one winner, and despite the brave efforts of the Catz players, Jowett proved just too good for them.
The Catz team managed to put their disappointment to one side, and congratulated their opponents sportingly. They also thanked their fans for their vociferous support during the contest!
Some of the students didn’t attend the game, as they sought out a different kind of spirit to the competitive one which had taken hold of their peers. They went on a spooky ghost tour around the city, listening to spectral stories about Oxford’s mysterious past.
The evening fun was a great way to relax at the start of week two. With deadlines drawing closer and graduation on the horizon, it’s important for the students to enjoy their free time and socialise with their friends. Keep it up!
