The third week of ORA’s summer at St Mary’s School has begun in style, thanks to a weekend jam-packed with fun and imagination! Some new arrivals were welcomed with a series of creative workshops and active games on the lawn, as they gelled well with those students who were carrying on from last week.
Saturday saw the students get their game faces on, as all sorts of contests from chess to tennis broke out. Those less moved by the thrill of competition were given creative outlets, as they made tie-dye t-shirts, had an arts and crafts workshop and enjoyed pamper club!
Sport wasn’t off the students’ minds for long though, and they launched themselves back into the action on Sunday with football and netball matches on the agenda. They did stop for long enough to enjoy a woodland classroom, identifying various leaves and insects.
Deputy Programme Director Alex spoke to the students in the evening, welcoming the newcomers and outlining the week ahead. It looks set to be another busy and fun week in Ascot, and everyone was left feeling very excited about what’s to come.
The students carried this excitement with them as they headed off to bed, chattering and joking with each other. The staff were pleased to see everyone bonding so well, and the new arrivals settling in very quickly. A good weekend has set everyone up for a great week!
