Our students were treated to a Sunday morning lie in yesterday after their jam-packed first week. The extra rest clearly restored some much-needed energy because breakfast was a very chatty affair as students considered what to do with their free day.
In the end, most decided to get their homework well out of the way before they did anything else, and the morning was filled with a pleasant studious atmosphere as the cohort diligently worked away.
As soon as they finished, the students zipped off into Oxford city centre so they could try out the lunch menus at various cafes and restaurants. Then the afternoon was filled with punting, shopping, mini golf, football, and whatever else took the students’ fancy. It was a wonderful chance for them to de-stress and make some memories with their new friends and everyone returned to St Peter’s with a wide grin.
To end the weekend on a high note, the students held a talent show in the evening. There were some truly amazing acts, from singing or playing instruments to gymnastics and even some amazing contortionism! Everyone’s jaws were very much on the floor as our cohort showcased their amazing talents and all the students who took part very much deserved the enthusiastic applause they received. Choosing a winner was almost impossible since the counsellors thought all the students deserved to win, but in the end Illaria’s Latin American Dance routine was chosen. Well done Illaria and well done to all the other fantastic acts!
Today our students are back to the usual timetable of morning lessons and we’re sure they’ll rise to the challenge as wonderfully as they did last week.
