Most of our students took advantage of the chance to grab a few extra minutes in bed yesterday morning as registration was running a little later than usual. This meant breakfast was an unusually quiet time as students slowly trickled downstairs with their friends.
Once everyone had eaten, the day was free for the students to spend however they liked. After such a busy week, the students were excited to finally have so much free time and lots of them headed off into Oxford right away. Between shopping, going punting again, and visiting some of the tourist hotspots, the students had a great morning exploring the city.
Though they’d split off into groups initially, lots of the students met up with each other again at lunch time to grab a bite to eat. Seeing them all so eager to spend time with each other was fantastic and it gives us high hopes that they’ll keep in touch after the end of the programme.
The afternoon was mostly given over to homework. With deadlines coming up the next morning, the students were keen to make sure all their work was finished in plenty of time. With lots of students all working at once, it turned into something of a social activity in itself with everyone happy to try and help their friends tackle a tricky problem.
To round off the weekend, some of our students went back into Oxford to watch the new Spiderman film. By the sounds of their excited chatter as they came back, it was definitely a good decision! Then it was time to head off to bed and get some rest in preparation for classes to start the next morning!
