Sunday saw an opportunity for another relaxing day for our students as they prepared to leave college again for an exciting and informative trip. The day started a little later than usual as everyone was treated to a lie in before they headed for their usual breakfast together.
After their meal, everyone gathered their cameras and boarded the coach on the short trip to Blenheim Palace! Students were eagerly independent on arrival, choosing to visit the house and gardens at their own pace. Fortunately, the weather warmed up throughout the afternoon as the whole group enjoyed the beautiful grounds in the sunshine.
It was fantastic to see how engaged everyone was with the history of the palace, in particular its connection to famous Prime Minster, Sir Winston Churchill. Students benefitted from the audio tour of the house, but their favourite place was certainly in the gardens.
All of the students commented on how much Blenheim had exceeded their expectations and again, it was a thoroughly relaxing way to enjoy a Sunday afternoon. Students then boarded the coach back to Oxford in the late afternoon sunshine.
The evening was spent finishing off any homework and chilling out in college – the perfect way to spend a Sunday for our students at Univ and Merton.
