Friday arrived as a (thankfully!) cooler day than Thursday had been but with no less excitement. With only one morning of lessons left before the weekend, there was a definite sense of anticipation in the air over breakfast.
The students carried this energy with them into their classes yesterday, taking on every tricky concept they came across without hesitation. The Business Challenge classroom was a particularly busy place yesterday. The students had spent the first week looking at the process and challenges of developing an app and now had the chance to split into groups to put everything they’d learned together and begin developing their own. Although the students had quite a challenge ahead of them, they began well by working out the strengths of their group and dividing up tasks accordingly. Though they still have a long way to go, it’s certainly a promising start!
In the afternoon, our students had some free time which lots of them decided to use on a trip into Oxford to buy outfits for the evening’s party. In preparation for the students’ trip to the Seacity museum tomorrow, the staff had decided to theme the party around the ocean and the students were eager to pick up fitting accessories!
As soon as dinner was over, the evening’s silent disco kicked off in the marquee. Each student had their own set of headphones so could listen to whichever music tracks they enjoyed best. With everyone dancing and singing to their own beat, it made for a slightly confusing sight (and sound!) whenever anyone took their headphones off, but that only added to the fun.
By curfew, everyone was thoroughly danced-out and they headed to bed excited for their day out in Southampton tomorrow.
