Queen’s ended their week with a sugary treat on Friday as they enjoyed a relaxed afternoon of cake decorating. Given how busy everyone has been with starting their programmes this week, it was a welcomed way to chill out in college.
This cohort have settled in well to their surroundings, showing particular enthusiasm for the college buildings, which unsurprisingly, they find incredibly beautiful. It has also been great to see the friendships blossoming and as we head into the weekend, students are looking forward to enjoying activities together.
Classes finished for the week in the afternoon, and it has been excellent to see how quickly this group have developed academically in such a short period of time. Everyone has been sensitive, respectful and discursive with their classmates and all of our teachers have inspired passion in the students who are even eager to get started on their homework!
Later in the afternoon, cake decorating got underway as everyone joined in to make their sugary masterpieces. There were several techniques used across the afternoon, with some choosing to carefully pipe icing and others taking a more relaxed approach.
It was a fun way to end the week, and students chatted as they added hundreds of thousands and other edible glittery sweets to their cakes! We look forward to the rest of what the weekend has to bring.
