Graduation was upon us on Friday at St Edmund’s, and after two very busy weeks of work, the students were looking forward to accepting their well-deserved reward with open arms.
There was a different atmosphere in the breakfast hall this morning, and although everyone was definitely excited for a fun day, there was an element of sadness in the air, as everyone was aware that this would be their final day together.
Lessons had a fun spin, as students enjoyed a half day in class. Teachers treated everyone to workshops and activities which were greatly received by all of the students. Classes finally came to an end before lunch, and students were reluctant to leave as they said their farewells, offering the deepest gratitude to their teachers for all of the expertise they have shared over the past two weeks.
Then it was time to get ready for the afternoon’s celebrations and everyone rushed off to their rooms to take a shower and get into something a little more formal for the graduation ceremony. The afternoon was a little emotional as students were rewarded for their hard work over the last couple of weeks. There was time to take some pictures in college and exchange numbers and addresses before everyone headed off for a party.
Eddie’s students were joined by everyone at St Catharine’s, another of our Cambridge colleges, and there was a fun party to round off the session here. There were lots of fun games to play for all of the students and even some inflatables! Overall, it was a great way for everyone to say their final farewells.
