It was an active day for students at St Edmund’s on Wednesday. As everyone nears the end of their programme, lessons were busy, with final presentations and assignments on the horizon.
Students woke to brilliant sunshine which certainly brightened their spirits. The college was filled with warm laughter and chatter as everyone set off for classes with a spring in their step. Lessons were challenging as usual, as several groups presented their final pieces of work. It has been brilliant to see everyone’s confidence improve throughout this session, and their development is a testament to the supportive atmosphere that our students have fostered over the past two weeks.
Once lessons were over, students had an afternoon of free time – a happy break from their hectic classes. Many chose to head into town to relax and enjoy shopping and an ice cream with their friends.
Those who wished to test their minds a little more were headed for the Lockhouse Escape Rooms, where they solved complex puzzles to be freed just in time. This was a great way to develop teamwork and the counsellors and junior deans were impressed by their ability to overcome challenges together.
At college, a few students conducted their own exercise class. They were keen to de-stress after a busy week and this contingent found a workout the best way of doing so. Their class included; circuit training complete with burpees, the bleep test and finally some yoga to cool down. It was a fun way for students to relax and there was plenty of water on hand to refresh them afterwards!
