Wednesday was another day of beautiful sunshine in Oxford – our students really are getting the best of the British weather this summer! With such a lovely day to enjoy, lessons flew by in a blur of enthusiasm and conscientiousness.
After lunch, the students found the perfect way to cool off in the heat: a punting trip! Floating down the cool river Cherwell in the shade of some overhanging trees, the students unanimously agreed that the best way to see Oxford was by boat! Once the boat had moored, they had a little time to test their hypothesis and do a spot of shopping in the city centre.
Back at St Peter’s in the evening, the students showed their creative skills with a T-shirt tie-dyeing workshop. It was a bit of a messy experience as the students mixed up their chosen dyes but that only added to their enjoyment! By the end, everyone had not only a unique and fantastic T-shirt but a great memory too.
Since everyone was already a little messy, it seemed like the perfect time for an egg tossing competition! The students all lined up in pairs to toss a raw egg back and forth between each other. Each time one of the pair successfully caught the egg, they both took a step back, getting perilously further apart until one of them dropped the egg! Safe to say, there was a lot of laughter on campus yesterday evening!
After everyone had showered and cleaned up, the students settled down for a cosy mystery-themed film night to end their very exciting day.
