Yesterday was another wonderfully warm day of sunshine in Oxford! The students made the most of the chance to spend time outside and enjoy the sunshine, especially after the counsellors warned them how unpredictable the British weather can be!
Lessons were a success as always, and with some of our students able to study inside Oxford’s beautiful Museum of Natural History, it’s hardly surprising they’re feeling inspired to work hard!
Once all the students had returned to campus and had a bite to eat, it was time for afternoon activities. As the students had loved their tour of Oxford so much on Monday, the counsellors offered to take them to see a few more of the city’s tourist attractions: the botanic gardens and the museum of modern art! Lots of students jumped at the chance, eager to see more of what the ‘City of Dreaming Spires’ had to offer. The opportunity to grab a quick ice cream or cold drink on the way convinced anybody who was on the fence!
In the evening, the students were in the mood to move! A whole host of them headed off to the university park for a couple of fast-paced and close-run matches of eight-a-side football. Those students who wanted some more relaxed exercise gathered inside for a much less competitive yoga session run by one of the counsellors. After a jam-packed first few days, the chance to relax and meditate was a very welcome one.
A few students managed to squeeze in a quick half an hour of homework and then it was time for everyone to head to bed!
