As the students reach the middle of their first week at Lady Margaret’s, there’s no shortage of enthusiasm on campus! The students are still entering every lesson with as much energy as they can muster and it really pays off in the work they produce.
The Politics and International Relations students have had a particularly interesting first week. With so much happening in the Britsh political system at the moment, and the recent selection of a new Prime Minister, it was the perfect time for them to be studying Britain’s political system.
After the last class had finished, the students had some free time to enjoy the wonderful sunshine the day had brought. Lots of students decided to head into Oxford to grab an ice cream or take a cool ride down the river Cherwell in a punt. Others wanted to stay safely in the shade and remained behind on campus to get some homework done or try their hand at some board games. It was fantastic to see our students all so willing to help each other with their work or teaming up to beat a counsellor at board games.
In the evening, students were once again split between those who wanted to be active and those who wanted to stay cool. Some students rushed out to the university park to play as many different sports as possible before the sun went down. Others stayed behind on campus to do some sketching – one of the students’ favourite drawing subjects ended up being a small crowd of Canada Geese that had found their way onto campus!
As lots of our students are from warmer climates, they all headed to bed quite excited for the record-breaking temperatures forecast for today!
