Tuesday at St Catherine’s meant that lessons were now in full swing, with students keen to get back to the classroom after a day of introductions. Monday had provided a lot to get to grips with, from locations around campus to what was on the curriculum. In spite of all this, students seemed to manage remarkably yesterday, finding where they were supposed to be and getting their heads down.
Yesterday also welcomed in the first Masterclasses of the course. There was truly something for everyone, with expert tutoring in Architecture, Stock Markets, Comedy, Design and Crime Scene Investigation. With so much variety, there wasn’t a dull moment to be had yesterday afternoon.
The Stock Market Challenge saw students in a true-to-life simulation of a Stock Exchange, with the goal being to try and make as large a profit as possible in the time allocated. It was difficult, especially with the added time pressure, but the students did an impressive job; once the bell sounded, everyone stopped and the results were tallied. Look out, Wall Street!
In the evening, a wind-down had been well and truly earned. There was Games Night, as well as Movie Night for those who wanted to put their feet up. At such an early stage, it was also a good opportunity to chat with new friends. For those who simply couldn’t get enough however, the lessons continued in the evening with Great Debate Preparation. What a packed day at Catz!
