As the end of the fortnight ticked closer in New Haven, with the programme heating up almost as much as the weather, the participants remained as cool as ever on Tuesday. They met the day head-on, and their teachers were positively bowled over by their work – something which would bode well for the evening activity!
The morning classes were spent poring over the projects and presentations, polishing and perfecting them ahead of the conclusion to the academic programme. The participants have shown great attention to detail, as well as their researching and writing skills, and this will bode very well for them going forward.
The participants enjoyed lunch after their morning endeavours. The meal times have been a great chance for everyone to chat and joke around, and the atmosphere even rivals the academic work in quality! The work was put on hold in the afternoon, as everyone went on a trip to the city of Hartford, which is the state capital of Connecticut.
The trip allowed the participants to spend free time in a different city to New Haven, and explore various attractions. One of these was the incredible Connecticut Science Center, which features engaging exhibits from a range of scientific disciplines.
Before grabbing some dinner in the city, the participants were able to free their competitive spirits with a visit to a bowling alley! They really enjoyed the activity, and a good-natured contest ended with the winners taking the acclaim of their peers – certainly a striking end to the day!
