The prospect of another beautiful summer day got all our students out of bed bright and early this morning. After introductions to their lessons yesterday, the students were eager to delve into their chosen subjects in more depth. With so many tricky concepts to get to grips with, the morning’s lessons flew by and before they knew it the students were settling down to lunch.
In the afternoon the students were joined by our St.Hugh’s cohort for some exciting masterclasses. Not only was this a great chance to develop specialist skills, but it also provided a great opportunity for the students to expand their social and cultural circle even further. It’s always wonderful to see friendships blossoming between students and yesterday was no different.
The Soapscience masterclass was particularly brightened by the extra students as everyone chattered about their favourite colours and scents, really getting their hands stuck into the class and laughing together about the inevitable mess!
In the evening our students waved goodbye to their new friends with promises to see them again soon and then settled down for some free time and crafts workshops. After such a sweet-smelling Soapscience masterclass, the cupcake decorating workshop was a big hit as students could eat their creations this time! A few students were spotted putting fingers in the icing instead of decorating tools, but the cupcakes were so successful nobody minded.
Those students who had too much energy to sit still headed out to the park for games of basketball and football in the last light of the day.
After such a creative and active day, everyone was eager to get to bed by curfew and take on another exciting day today!
