What a phenomenal start to the course it was yesterday at Catz. The students were all quite eager to get started and, after some initial confusion, everybody found their way to their classrooms. There was a lot to get through on the first day of introductions but the students approached it all with a great attitude and keen desire to learn.
The lessons yesterday primarily focused on the students getting to know each other, with teambuilding exercises and individual presentations. There was a great level of participation throughout and it was great to see everyone gradually coming out of their shells. Meanwhile, Acting Skills focused on stage interactions before taking turns to perform to the entire class – quite an achievement on day one!
With lessons wrapping up for lunch, students headed outside to bask in the wonderful sunshine. There’s a heatwave heading for Oxford in the coming days, so students will be constantly reminded to apply plenty of sunscreen this week. Yesterday was rather milder however, and everybody really enjoyed exploring the grounds and chatting to one-another.
Whilst everybody was keen to learn as much as they could on their first day, there was also plenty of time for a sightseeing tour of the world’s greatest city, Oxford! Yesterday, the focus was placed not only on the city centre, but on its various colleges. The tour was rounded off with a quick spin inside Balliol College, which everyone seemed to enjoy a great deal, even if it’s no Catz, of course!
