Sunday was a relaxed affair at Clare as the students used the day of rest to enjoy a few extra hours in bed. After a busy day in London on Saturday it was time for the group to chill out and enjoy college.
The morning was spent finishing off any assignments and homework that hadn’t been completed yet and the counsellors offered the students a hand with their work as everyone discussed questions from their lessons together.
It has been brilliant to see how quickly our students here have got into the swing of their studies, and as the first week of the programme closes everyone is showing more and more dedication as they aim to make the most out of the brilliant and passionate teaching here in Cambridge. Students have already expressed how much they have learnt in classes, and although there is often a small amount of reluctance to do homework, once they start they are as interested as ever.
Before dinner, it was time for some afternoon activities which included sketching and afternoon tea – a very cultured day! Students enjoyed a British Sunday tradition of scones, clotted cream and jam with a delicious cup of Earl grey tea. Once they were full, it was time to sketch – a very sophisticated way to end the week!
Finally, following dinner there was a talent show, with many performances including; comedy, singing, guitar, piano and tap dancing. It was a joyous way to end the week and the students look forward to starting their lessons again on Monday!
