The atmosphere yesterday at St Catherine’s was perfect: relaxed, friendly and with plenty of sun!
There was a great mood as students gradually trickled into campus and found their way to their rooms. With so much to get to grips with, and with nerves doubtless playing on some students, it was great to see so many smiles on day one. Everyone arrived and an introductory speech from our staff was in order. This outlined what the students can expect from the course, as well as what the course will expect from them. There was an additional point made of respecting everybody’s diverse set of cultures and nationalities.
This was followed by refreshments in the marquee, where everybody got the chance to chat to each other. It was also noted that there was a great level of interaction between the new students and the councilors – a really promising sign at such an early stage!
As mentioned, yesterday was a sunny one at Catz, so it was great to get everybody outside once the talks had ended. Table tennis was as popular as ever, and as the day became the evening students had already made some great progress getting to know each other.
In the coming weeks, students will be exposed to a wide array of Activities, Enrichment Outings and opportunities to socialise. However, tomorrow marks the start of lessons, and with them, a packed curriculum of work to get through. We wish all our new students the very best on the course!
