Graduation day has arrived at last! The whole campus was alive with anticipation from the moment the students woke up. It was hard for them to sit still through breakfast and every now and then someone would get up and rush across the dining hall to talk to another of their friends.
It’s a testament to the students’ dedication and willpower that they managed to settle down and create some amazing work in their last few classes. It was particularly great to see the Fashion Textile and Design class have their static fashion show at last – there’s been so much amazing creativity come out of this class and it was fantastic to see it all together.
It was with a hint of sadness that the students waved goodbye to the teachers who have given them so much help and guidance over the last two weeks. But as the students headed off to get changed, their sadness soon gave way to excitement.
They entered the hall to find it fully decked-out for the occasion! They took their seats and the programme director gave a short but meaningful talk about how wonderful it has been to work with such engaged and enthusiastic students. Then it was time for the students to step up onto the stage and take their scrolls at last! Those students who had gone above and beyond were doubly rewarded with paddle awards and special academic achievement and effort awards too!
After a fancier dinner than usual, the students danced the night away at a silent disco in the Marquee! The staff had organised a few games for the students to play too including a rodeo bullring! Though departing is always a sad time, there were smiles on everyone’s faces when they headed off to bed.
