As the last full day of classes, yesterday was quite a hectic day for our students at Hugh’s! From the moment they came down the stairs, everyone was buzzing with excitement and chatter about the next two days. Breakfast and the walk to class were a much louder affair than usual as students compared hopes and calmed each others’ nerves.
During classes, students were wrapping up their courses and working towards final presentations and projects for tomorrow. In the Introduction to Fashion Textile and Design, students were hard at work on their final designs and sketches, which will be shown off tomorrow in a static fashion show! Going through the process of turning an idea into a physical piece of art is incredibly good practice for our students, and will benefit them immensely in their future studies!
Once lessons had finished, the students took advantage of the sunshine to cram in as many games of badminton, football, and table tennis as possible, or headed into the city to snatch up final souvenirs.
The day finished on a high note with a talent show and a spot of karaoke in the evening. It’s a testament to just how many talented individuals we have with us that the show had so many fabulous acts. It’s a good thing it was an ‘everybody wins’ talent show, because choosing a winner would have been almost impossible!
With so much to look forward to tomorrow, it’s not surprising that our students were eager to go to bed early and get as much sleep as possible!
