As the weekend approaches, excitement is growing at Ed’s for their upcoming excursion on Saturday! Breakfast was filled with cheery discussion about what the students might see or be able to buy as a souvenir while they were out!
Despite the undercurrent of excitement, by the time the students had reached their classrooms, they had managed to turn their minds to work. And a good thing too – there were presentations to be done! It’s great to see that all of our students are confident enough to stand up and talk in front of each other, and it bodes well for the remainder of the programme!
Once classes had finished, students took the chance to have lunch and relax before attending an Oxbridge talk in the garden room. The talk covered everything from application deadlines to personal statement guidelines and was incredibly useful as some of our students have already expressed an interest in returning to Cambridge in a few years as a university student!
Even those students who weren’t planning on applying to Oxbridge found the talk useful as almost all of our students are looking to apply to a university in the future.
Then the students had a short break to stretch their legs and grab a drink before they were treated to a political theory workshop with Joe. The talk covered everything from the very basics of UK politics to the nitty gritty of the political system, and attracted a lot of our students with their own political dreams!
After dinner, the students all gathered for an intense ping pong competition! As the weekend is almost here, the winner of this competition would likely be the overall ping pong champion of the first week, so it was a very fierce contest!
By the time the students headed to bed, they were filled with excitement and elation about their upcoming excursion at the weekend and were eager for the next day to arrive.
