It was a characteristically energetic start to Thursday, as students on our 19 + programmes were up bright and early to begin their penultimate day of classes. Throughout their diverse range of programmes, this group have shown incredible engagement with all of their classes, and Thursday was no different.
Everyone enjoyed breakfast together as usual, with the group commenting about how sad it will be when they can no longer eat their morning meal in such an idyllic location! Once everyone had finished, they set off to their lessons.
The final full day of classes was filled with presentations as everyone rounded off their programmes with a final flourish of academic rigour. Those in English and the Modern World and Workplace have seen huge improvements and progress in their speaking, listening and reading skills in English especially with detailed attention to using English in academic and corporate contexts. Their teacher Rosie, has been particularly impressed by their skills in collaboration, as they have always supported one another throughout the programme and all of them are sure to return with great international friends.
There was a slightly sad atmosphere as students finished their final lessons of the day knowing this would be last full day of classes, however it was great that they then had some free time chill out – with some choosing to go into town and others just relaxing and chatting in the college grounds.
The evening promised to be an entertaining affair with the prospect of karaoke as a group. Everyone got involved and it was great to see the students leaving their inhibitions behind as they sang the words to a few world famous classics. It was a great way to end the day and with slightly hoarse throats everyone got to bed early to prepare for graduation on Friday!
