It was a busy and bustling morning at Jowett yesterday as all the everyone prepared for their last full day of lessons! The halls were full of excited chatter as the students finished up with breakfast and headed off to their classes.
For most programmes, this morning was a chance to put finishing touches to presentations and final projects that are due in tomorrow. For our Introduction to Engineering students, it was a particularly hectic morning. Tomorrow the students will be pitting their work against each other in a robotics competition, so today’s classes were spent rushing about tweaking screws and checking power supplies. All the robots look very impressive – whoever judges the competition is going to have a very tough job!
After lunch, the staff had organised a university fair for the students in the marquee. Lots of universities from all corners of the country had sent representatives and prospectuses to share everything they knew about university life! As all our students are incredibly forward-thinking, this was a great chance for them to really get their teeth into the differences between universities and get a sense of which one might be right for them.
Everyone really made the most of the afternoon and the marquee was full of questions from the beginning of the fair to the end.
In the evening, the students either played a last few rounds of table tennis and badminton, or put their heads down and got to work in homework club!
By curfew, there was a definite sense of anticipation in the air and our students went off to bed thinking of their graduation tomorrow afternoon.
