Mid-week was upon us yesterday as Balliol got stuck back into their timetable, followed by some well-deserved downtime.
Lessons went well; iOS App Development and Summer English opened the day in the Reading Room, and students really seemed to have a grip on the topics at hand from the get-go. Lessons, once concluded, were followed up by the Social Programme. It’s important to balance fast-paced learning with recreation, and the students really valued being able to spend time with one-another during the day.
At this stage, they also know how to make the most of it! Some opted to head to the Modern Art Museum. Founded in 1965, it is the Oxford’s leading Modern Arts Institution, promoting an international outlook and unconventional voices. Those who went gained a lot from what they saw, from abstract painting to grand room displays. They even managed to swing by the gift shop on the way out!
Later in the day, some of the other students headed off to Uni Parks for a game of Badminton. It was a ferocious and well-fought session, made more interesting by the lack of a net! The students engaged their imagination and ended up playing a great few sets. It was a balmy evening weather-wise too, so it was nice to make the most of the sun.
Today, the students will be straight back into lessons. Graduation is closer than ever, and there is still much to get done. Hopefully they can make time for some sun amidst the stress!
