Wednesday saw the midweek mark for students at Yarnton and the whole group were treated to a delicious meal outdoors! With some of the most important presentations of the programme due on Thursday, the students needed a little pick-me-up to keep them going.
Once morning lessons were over for everyone, there was time to relax outside. Students headed out to help themselves to a delicious paella in the garden, with a fresh tomato salad. It was nice for everyone to sit and chat on the lawn and the temperature was perfect, with a little cloud cover so that it wasn’t too hot.
After finishing their paella, students had free time to play some games of badminton in the garden before they headed back to classes for the afternoon. Students on our Law School Preparation programme were talking about liability, particularly focusing on the important concept of liability between a doctor and a patient.
Meanwhile students on our Engineering Preparation programme were learning about thermal dynamics, with some choosing to answer a complex equation and others preparing their notes for a debate which pitted the benefits of Renewable Energy against Nuclear Energy – a very interesting and topical subject. Students on Mastering Automotive Engineering have now begun full work on building their Caterham sports car – although the roll bar and headlights have been a little tricky to get in!
The evening was largely dedicated to homework, as everyone prepares to hand in their final assignments. Some students used the bus service to head into town for free time and a Ghost Tour, but everyone was back early to complete their work. Well done students at Yarnton for working hard and showing real dedication!
