Queens was ablaze with excitement yesterday; it’s been a frantic week and the pace did not stall on Wednesday, with a Bouldering Session followed by a Ghost Tour in the evening!
Lessons went smoothly in the morning. As always, our helpful team of Junior Deans and Councillors was on standby to help when they could, and once again the lessons went over smoothly. Graduation is on the horizon, and students will be sure to knuckle down in the coming days.
Afterwards there was time to unwind on the lawn and have Lunch before the day’s Excursion later on. Yesterday, it was a trip to Oxford Brookes for a Bouldering Session. The students really enjoyed this one. Notoriously easier than it looks (and not those with vertigo), the bouldering required students to work in pairs, with one climbing and the other keeping tension on the rope. It was a great experience, testing both their skill and courage.
The real test of bravery was still to come however, as the students collaborated with St Hugh’s College later in the evening for a Ghost Tour of Oxford! Lead by Bill Spectre, and complete with props and illusions, the tour was exceptionally entertaining and a real thrill. The stories were truly engaging and we even thought we saw a ghost at one point! It’s all just pretend though… Isn’t it?
The day wrapped up with a Louis Theroux Night, as well as a spot of Karaoke. It had been another long day, with plenty of thrills to remember it by.
