Despite it being the middle of the week, the promise of another small excursion in the afternoon had all our students up bright and early this morning. As presentation days and final project deadlines approach, the atmosphere in classrooms is growing more intense. Our students are all rising to the challenge wonderfully though, and the standard of work is as impressively high as ever.
Once classes had finished, students had a quick bite to eat, then split up to either play some tennis or head out to Oxford’s Botanic Garden. With almost 6,000 different species of plants housed there, the garden is heaven for any budding botanists. It also inspired several of our more artistic students as all the different plants and flowers provided some great drawing material.
One of our students, Jincao, impressed everyone with their wide horticultural knowledge and gave a small crash-course in different plant types!
In the evening, the staff put on a CV and resume making workshop, which almost all of the cohort attended. It’s really encouraging to see them all thinking so far ahead and taking the opportunity to prepare for their future! Those who didn’t attend were no less diligent, using their time instead to work on group projects and presentations!
Afterwards, in recognition of all the hard work the students had done that day, the counsellors took some students to see the new Spiderman film in Oxford’s Westgate centre. By the exhilarated looks on their faces when they came out, it was a good choice!
Those who remained behind at campus played frisbee or table tennis, determined to rack up as many wins as possible before the end of the session!
Students headed to bed tired after a busy day, but pleased with everything they’d accomplished.
