Eddie’s got off to a good start on Wednesday as everyone was looking forward to another busy day in college. Friendships here are now in full bloom and it has been excellent to see how quickly the whole group have bonded together.
In the morning, students on our Summer Architecture Programme were beginning to get some drawings and plans done for their projects over the next two weeks. This course will help them with planning, designing and spatial mapping in order to give them a headstart in studying architecture in the future.
Children began with technical drawings as they were taught how to use their tools in a professional manner. Then it was onto some model construction, this time manually, so that the students could bring their drawings to life. Over the next two weeks, they will also have the chance to construct these images using digital formats – something everyone is eager to get started on.
After their classes, students had free time which most of them used to head into the city centre to grab some snacks or a coffee with their friends. In the evening, there was a talk about personal statement advice and applying to non-Oxbridge universities. This presented a good opportunity for students to ask any questions about this process and everyone who attended commented on how useful the information had been.
The day was completed with a 5 a side football match, which ended up getting a little competitive. Those who preferred not to take part, sat on the sidelines and did some homework, cheering on their friends while they studied.
