Wednesday saw the continuation of Tuesday’s drive for detail, as the participants got stuck into their subjects in New Haven. The rest of the day provided a chance to capture some culture, and a delightful digital detox!
As Yale welcomed in another summer day, the participants raced down for breakfast, eager to eat and then get underway with their morning classes. The ORA team have been very impressed with everyone’s enthusiasm so far, and this showed no signs of abating as the lessons kicked off.
The aim of Wednesday’s academic sessions was to continue the theme of Tuesday’s classes, and transition from the general overview of the programmes into rigorous study of the subject matter. These lessons will be invaluable to the participants when it comes to their projects, as they will be able to draw on detailed insight to lend intellectual weight to their work.
The afternoon brought the chance to visit the Yale University Art Gallery and look at some wondrous works of art. The collection consists of a plethora of incredible pieces, from ancient works all the way through to modern masterpieces. There are a number of paintings by some very famous names, including Pablo Picasso and Vincent van Gogh, which were incredible for participants to see.
In the evening, a digital detox drew everyone away from their phones and tablets and encouraged them to follow pursuits which didn’t involve screens. The most popular choices were basketball and board or card games, which had even the most staunch tech-heads enjoying themselves!
