The students on the ORA campus at St Andrews had a day of business on Tuesday, as they went through a series of talks on marketing before taking on a ‘Dragon’s Den’ style challenge!
The day began with yet more sunshine, and the students certainly seem to have hit the jackpot with the Scottish weather as it is going through a real purple patch at the moment.
The students had lessons as normal in the morning, with their classes delving deeper into the subjects after Monday’s general overview. After lunch, though, they were able to get stuck into the Sales and Marketing Masterclass.
They started with a lecture on different forms of marketing, moving on to consider how an ideal modern day advertising campaign might look, in relation to things like social media. The students then had a enjoyable task, as they worked in small teams to design and present products to the whole group.
The masterclass was very informative and a lot of fun, and the students were in store for more entertainment as they took on a great teambuilding challenge. The objective of this challenge was to pass a hula-hoop along a line, making sure that everyone in the line had passed through the hoop before it was moved on.
The day proved to be an enormously useful one for the students, as they made tremendous progress in their lessons and then showed good cooperation skills and business acumen later on. Forget the Wolf of Wall Street, soon you’ll be hearing all about the Sharks of St Andrews!
