Tuesday was an exciting day for our students at Jowett, both inside and outside the classroom!
In the morning, students studying Medical School Preparation had the chance to get some hands-on experience with a dissection! Working with live tissue is a great opportunity for students to develop their practical skills alongside their theoretical ones and all our students got really stuck-in. Luckily, nobody was squeamish and by the end of the lesson everyone had gained important surgical skills.
After lessons had finished, it was time for our students to grab a packed lunch and a camera and board the coach to London! Arriving in the West End, our students had the afternoon to themselves to explore nearby Covent Garden and Leicester Square. Lots of them hunted for the perfect souvenir while others chose to search for the most iconic photo spot!
Dinner was also a grand affair, with students spoilt for choice by the myriad of different restaurants offering delicious food. After everyone had eaten, it was time, at last, for the main event of the evening: musicals and theatre!
Students had the choice between four exciting options: Aladdin, Come From Away, The Waitress, and The Comedy About A Bank Robbery. No matter the choice, nobody was disappointed! The comedy had the students in stitches, and the musicals had everyone humming happily all the way back to the coach.
On the coach journey, students compared the highlights of the different shows and even asked if there would be a chance for them to see the others! Clearly, the day was an all round success!
