With students now settled in at Clare, morning lessons on Tuesday got off to an energetic start as everyone made their way to classes with grand expectations for the day. Now that the introductory classes are over, it is time for the students to start thinking about their projects and presentations for the coming two weeks.
Once morning classes were over the group ate their lunch together before rushing off to get ready for an exciting afternoon of ORA Masterclasses. This promised to be a dynamic and different range of activities, with workshops in forensics, fan powered cars and soap making!
The Masterclasses proved incredibly popular, with particular mention going to the CSI Crash Course, which saw students dressing in forensic boiler suits to try to solve the crime using their powers of deduction. It was fantastic to see everyone getting into the role of detective and there was plenty of discussion as everyone tried to agree on the details of the crime. The group worked well together to solve the mystery.
The fan powered car workshop saw students engineering their own vehicles and it was hugely satisfying when everyone saw their motors speed off in a race at the end of the afternoon. Well done to everyone involved, it was great to see all the students have so much fun whilst learning new skills!
After an exciting afternoon, there was a chance for the students to relax after dinner with homework club. Once their work was finished, some headed outside for a football match whilst others decorated mugs in college.
