Monday morning was marked with more magnificent weather in New Haven, and everyone came down to breakfast bright-eyed and ready for a busy day.
After the participants had eaten, their academic sessions kicked off, with each programme having a day of introductory classes. These were aimed at giving the participants a brief outline of the relevant subjects, and also providing details about their final projects and presentations.
After lunch, the participants had more lessons to try and get everyone as ready as possible for the week ahead. This wasn’t all that was planned for the afternoon though, as a tour of the campus had also been arranged.
The tour was led by two actual Yale students, who were perfectly placed to guide the ORA participants around the campus and point out the many fascinating and beautiful features.
The scorching heat meant that any opportunity to cool off was welcome, and the participants were delighted when they were able to dash off and grab some delicious ice creams!
In the evening, the participants ate dinner and then took part in a fun quiz. There were also games and free time in the common room, as everyone relaxed after a tough but fun first day on campus. Good work!
