The sun welcomed in the new week yesterday as Queen’s steamed into a new roster of activities, lessons and excursions. After the fantastic Great Debate the day prior, there was a real buzz in the air and it had clearly made a great impression on the students.
Everyone rose promptly despite the inevitable slipping of body clocks over the weekend, which was great to see. Lessons commenced with full attendance and engagement – not bad for a Monday!
Last week’s punting trip proved such a roaring success that the students were eager to return, as evidenced by the excursion’s enormous popularity. The students were noticeably more adept with the paddle than before, and there was even a marked improvement in balance! The Deans were always on hand for guidance and support, but everyone managed regardless.
The evening brought a chance to engage in some slightly less stressful activities. Most students opted for football, with a stunning display taking place on the green. Meanwhile, those who were still feeling brave decided they would try their hand at Karaoke! Some revealed themselves to be sensationally talented. Others more embodied the spirit of the song than the actual notes…
The week rolls on and we have so much still to get through here at Queen’s. Tomorrow is a particularly exciting one, with a trip to a Musical planned for the majority of the day. However, whether it will be as musically stellar as some of our students remains to be seen!
