Students at Clare started their stay in Cambridge with lots of energy on Monday! After a busy day of travelling on Sunday and good rest in the evening everyone was eager to get started with their programmes.
In the morning, it was time for their first lessons and the campus was alive with chatting and laughter as the students at Clare were shown to their classes by our dedicated team of counsellors. During their morning classes, teachers helped to answer any questions the students had about their programmes – then it was time to introduce them to their timetable of work and the learning objectives for the following two weeks.
Once morning classes were over, students headed to the dining room for a well deserved lunch. After eating, a few students chose to play a few games in the grounds at Clare and our counsellors and junior deans were eager to get involved and start getting to know the students.
After classes finished for the day, it was time for a tour of the city. All of the students crossed the River Cam into the centre of town to witness some of the beautiful architecture that Cambridge has to offer. This was a chance for our counsellors and junior deans who know this city well to offer their expertise about some of the history here.
In the evening, once students had enjoyed their dinner together, there was a great quiz run by the counsellors in the marquee. There were plenty of rounds including; Cambridge, England, Harry Potter and finally a round where the students had to guess the counsellors from their baby photos. The winning team were Eurasians who received a sweet treat for their success!
