The week began at Univ in spectacular style yesterday after a day full of free-time. The students were up promptly – great to see after a long weekend – and returned to lessons with plenty of gusto. Upon completing their assignments, it was time to celebrate! The students were rewarded with plenty of free time in the day to do with as they pleased. Oxford was as bustling with attractions as ever, and there was no shortage to investigate.
Some students also chose to take up the offer of seeing Oxford Castle and Prison. As iconic as it is frightening, it has stood for over 1000 years and contains some of Oxford’s most fascinating landmarks, including one of its oldest: the Saxon St George’s Tower. The students were taken in with the Castle’s rich history and seemed to really enjoy the experience.
In the evening, there was time to unwind in the splendid Univ grounds and for the students to catch up with one-another after a long day of exploring.
Today, the action ramps up as the students diverge onto different trips, including a medical dissection and a trip to the Mini plant. The Deans here have also offered up some local knowledge regarding ways to spend the evening, with suggestions including the local Curzon Cinema and the Oxford Escape Rooms!
There is an immense amount on the horizon, and although assessments were a success, there is still a great deal to tackle in the days ahead!
