It was a wonderful start to Week Two at Balliol yesterday; starting early and guided as always by our team of helpful Deans, the students got straight back into lessons without missing a beat. There was some great participation as usual and the students seemed raring to get back into the swing of things.
Sunday had been an exciting one, with The Great Debate still defining yesterday’s conversation. It had clearly provided a spark of inspiration for the students and got them thinking about some of the most important issues in the future of technology.
As the week presses onward, there is plenty more academically for Balliol sink its teeth into, but yesterday there was a footballling score that needed to be settled as the students made for Uni Parks for the big rematch! There were two games, as well as a huge cohort of animated supporters. In the end, the Orange Bibs looked to have the upper hand throughout, but it was as close as ever. It seems the fiery rivalry has yet to be extinguished!
Of course, the high-speed sporting action isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, so some opted to stay behind and relax in the sun. It was another lovely day in what is shaping up to be a magnificent Summer in England, and the students have been keen to make the most of it. Some also opted to finish up homework whilst others attended a class on Time Management. Only tomorrow will tell how much they learnt from it!
