Monday saw the start to the first classes at Catz in Cambridge and as the students begin to settle a little into their new surroundings, it was time for them kickstart their programmes.
The morning started well, and with everyone having had a good rest on Sunday night, the group headed for a hearty English breakfast together in the dining hall. Despite only knowing one another for a few hours, this group seem to be gelling well and we look forward to seeing friendships grow and develop over the next two weeks.
With new friends in tow, everyone headed to their lessons, being guided to the correct rooms by our helpful team of campus staff who are here to make everyone feel safe and at home. Students started their classes with enthusiasm as they were introduced to their teachers for the session. Most of the day was spent introducing the students to their learning plan for the next two weeks and it was great to see everyone keen to ask questions and get involved.
Once lessons were over, there was a traditional tour of Cambridge and the group were understandably eager to see some of the sights of this historic city. This was also a chance for students to chat and get to know the counsellors and junior deans as well as one another.
In the evening, everyone took part in a fun quiz! In first place were Team Lighbulbs, followed by Team Heidi in second and third place was taken by Team Gucci. These teams received a sweet reward for their achievements in answering the questions. A great way to end the first day!
