Having enjoyed a busy day in London on Saturday, the students at St Hugh’s looked forward to a relaxing day in college on Sunday. And they were not disappointed! Everyone had the chance for a little extra time in bed, as they made the most of their Sunday lie in.
After their extra sleep, the students were excited to start their day and they began it in the right way with delicious full English breakfast in college. Fuelled for the rest of the day, it was then time for homework club where students completed their assignments for their classes on Monday.
Once they had finished their work, with the kind help of some of the counsellors, the students headed onto the lawn to enjoy a game of croquet! This proved a lot of fun, as everyone enjoyed trying to avoid the campus windows with the heavy ball. After croquet some students got crafty, making friendship bracelets, whilst others went inside to enjoy some board games.
After a busy afternoon, students then returned to their rooms to get changed for the evening as they went to take part in a fun sports day with students at one of our other Oxford colleges, Lady Margaret Hall. The two groups of students enjoyed getting to know one another and there was plenty of laughter throughout the afternoon as everyone competed.
Finally, it was time for the group to return to St Hugh’s for bed – after such a busy weekend everyone was keen to get some rest and prepare for another interesting week of classes in Oxford.
