Sunday was arrivals day for our first cohort of 8-12s at St Mary’s School in Ascot, meaning all of ORA’s campuses for Summer 2019 are now active!
The students arrived at the school from all over the world, and they were greeted with some very welcome refreshments. There were high hopes and good spirits, and people started making friends immediately with some games of catch and frisbee out on the lawn.
Deputy Programme Director Alex then gave a talk when the final few students had arrived, welcoming everyone and outlining the week ahead. The students’ academic programmes will begin on Monday and everyone is looking forward to getting started.
After the welcome talks, it was time for dinner. Everyone gratefully tucked into their food after a long day, and there was more chatting and laughing as early friendships began to blossom.
After they had eaten, the students went out and burned off some of their new-found energy with some fun games, before heading to the Rose Theatre for a talk. The evening was a quiet affair, as tiredness got the better of everyone, but a good sleep will set them up for a fast start on Monday!
