The middle weekend at Catz began in fine style as the students enjoyed a Saturday of sun, sport and socialising. After a week of academic sessions and settling in, the day was a fine chance to enjoy some free time and explore Oxford.
In the early part of the day, the students took part in the ORA Olympics, competing in a variety of events such as the egg and spoon race and tug of war.
The students competed in blue, and defended their campus name passionately as they took on the reds of Balliol and the oranges of Queen’s. Everyone enjoyed the exercise, and it was great to see the students smiling and laughing with each other.
In the evening the students had free time to go out into the city and do some shopping and sightseeing. That was a popular option, however not everyone took it, and those who elected to remain on campus had a tasty barbecue and buffet.
As well as the food, there was a game of ‘keep-ups’ with a football, which more and more people joined as the evening wore on. There was a very relaxed air about the students in the evening, as a more comfortable temperature and this allowed them to enjoy the outdoors.
It was a fine first week at Catz, and what better way to conclude it than with such a super Saturday?
