As was to be expected, Saturday promised another busy day at Yarnton Manor as the students were full of energy for the upcoming weekend. Having spent the week working exceptionally hard in lessons and developing their own businesses and entrepreneurial skills in the masterclasses, it was time for the students to relax with some free time!
After a hearty breakfast in the Long Gallery, the students assembled in the courtyard as they waited for the coaches to take them to Oxford city centre. The students were particularly keen to get some more Ben’s Cookies – a delicacy in Oxford that the counsellors had been talking about all week.
Once the students arrived in the centre, they headed straight for the cookie shop. The students then washed their double chocolate chip cookies down with a Moo Moo’s milkshake and headed off to explore the Westgate centre. So it was a sweet start to the afternoon!
Once the students had done some independent sightseeing and shopping, they congregated with the campus staff in Christ Church meadows where everyone decided to relax and enjoy the summer sunshine. All of the students admired the famous architecture of this wonderful building with lots of other tourists who had been attracted by the college.
After a busy day of sightseeing and exploring Oxford city centre, the students arrived back at Yarnton Manor where everyone participated in afternoon activities including; homework club, a few games of table tennis and some badminton! It was a relaxed Saturday, and everyone headed to bed early to prepare for the Great Debate on Sunday!
