Yesterday made for a fantastic end to the week here at Queen’s. The morning kicked off in traditional fashion: an early start followed by lessons. One week has flown by and the students have clearly learnt to much, as was keenly displayed yesterday in classes. Lessons have offered a great way for students to put what they have learned into practice too recently, with everyone’s past knowledge becoming increasingly important as the course progresses.
This was followed up by a group of students heading to Christchurch College. Perhaps one of the most beautiful in Oxford, Christchurch made for a great day visit as well as plenty of good photographs. The students clearly loved the opportunity, and there’s always a great response from visiting the other colleges.
However, the highlight was saved for the evening: an Indian-style dinner in the Dining Hall, followed by a Talent Show. The students seeed to really love the food, which also provided another opportunity for everyone to continue familiarising themselves with other cultures. The pudding was a particular hit! Meanwhile, the Talent Show was an excellent display of some of the student’s hidden abilities! There were some great routines performed, and it made for a really fun and entertaining end of the week.
And quite a week it’s been! From Scavenger Hunts around Oxford to Punting on the River, students have so far completely embraced the culture and sights of Oxford, as well as each-other’s unique heritage, and there is still much more to come. With the Great Debate only around the corner, there is no time to dilly-dally. Onward!
