Friday was a day of high emotion and celebration at Imperial College, as our first group of Summer 2019 students graduated from the programme and partied into the evening to celebrate.
The students began the day with some final lessons, keeping things fairly light as everyone was in such good spirits ahead of the festivities later on.
After lunch, the students were given free time to get ready for graduation. This was a task which was taken very seriously by everyone, and the results were impressive as everyone certainly looked the part!
The ceremony itself was a triumph, as all the students celebrated having passed the academic programmes. A few special prizes were handed out by the counsellors, with students winning honors such as ‘Best Comedic Duo’ and ‘All-Round Campus Hero’.
Counsellor Qahir also gave a brilliant speech about the success of the programme and his words reflected the feelings of all the ORA team.
The evening was concluded with a meal and celebration at a very nice restaurant in Chelsea, and the students were all on great form as they joked and chatted, enjoying each other’s company.
Saturday will be departures day and there will doubtless be a tinge of sadness as the programme comes to a close, but overall everyone has been magnificent and their celebrations on Friday did justice to two joyous weeks in London. Hooray!
