Yesterday was another one for the books at Catz; everyone was keen to get going after another early start to the day. The end of the week brought with it a remarkable sense of accomplishment, as well as a thoroughly engaging lecture on team building!
It was only Monday that the students began their new academic routine, and how quickly time has flown. During their time at St Catherine’s College, the students have experienced a host of incredible activities, from Quiz Night to a tour of Oxford and its various stunning campuses.
And of course, who could forget the incredible Stock Market Challenge that had students making split-second decisions based on stock prices. The winner was the person who could make the highest profit by the end, and the challenge was thoroughly embraced by everyone.
Wednesday proved particularly inspiring, with a detox lecture encouraging the students to put down the technology, even if just for the afternoon! Students were clearly feeling the benefit of embracing old-fashioned pleasures like Chess and Ping-Pong.
It’s been a marvellous week, but there is still so much to look forward to. Not least of which is the Great Debate on Sunday. The topic will revolve around Artificial Intelligence and whether robots are taking the jobs of humans. Each campus will nominate a candidate for and against the motion. We look forward to seeing the students there!
